Mallow Crier - August 14, 1478

WAR VISITS MALLOW!

The Good Wizard Lonan Hough has sent an Important Missive to this publication, to wit:

Attention, please, Mallow Crier editors.

I wish to alert my lord, Baron Angus, peers of the Realm, Ladies, gentlemen, and the good people of mallow that a threat has been, at least momentarily, suppressed. Lady Sláine Lavery, dottir of the selfstyled Duke Cork, Crago Lavery, came upon our lands in the company of armed mercenaries in a clear spying mission. With the help of good and strong friends, I have repelled sláine's squadron, but I fear they may not be operating alone and in isolation. Please, all, take every precaution against the possibility of aggression from our South.

Humbly yours,
Lonan

As the Fair Magician had sent this same message to our Dear Baron as well, this publication has received Word from His Office as well. The Baron's majordomo has told us directly that the Threat of War is taken Seriously. All levies are ON NOTICE to Answer The Call of your Lord and Ladies Promptly. War may be again At Hand!

RAIDERS IN THE WEST

Several Families have arrived in Mallow from the western Hinterlands, reporting that Nasty Goblins have Attacked, Stealing livestock and Murdering goodfolk. Though difficult to Truly Ascertain, it Appears that at least SIX FARMS have been COMPLETELY DESTROYED already. The situation may be Worse still, as it took these Good Folk considerable time to escape to the Safety of Mallow.

Mallow Crier - August 9, 1478

FAIR EISTIR HAS DIED

It is a Great Sadness for us All that Baron Angus' only daughter, by the late Catrina, Eistir has died. The Baron's Majordomo informed town officials this Friday past, August 2, that the Lady had passed in the night. Those close to her knew the Lady to be Generous, Patriotic, and ever Careful of her Family's Honor. House O'Giolláin will burn the Fine Lady's corpse with her horse and dogs and sacrifices on August 9.

JESSE O'GOWAN'S GANG IS NO MORE!

Renegade Jesse O'Gowan and his Gang of Outlaws who have been robbing Honest Traders on the Cork Track all summer have been stopped at Great Cost.

This Tuesday past, August 6, the three brave survivors of the Kern Patrol under Captain Denis MacSheehy who clashed with O'Gowan's Ruthless Criminals two days prior brought the lone survivor of his gang to Justice in Mallow. Constable Maher holds this Vicious Criminal from now until Sunday when the criminal will hang for his Grievous Transgressions. The Bandit Gang had been harrying traders, farmers, and travelers along the track for several months, robbing them of many goods as well as killing several Honest Men who sought only to defend their women and property against criminal deprivations.

Sadly, this restoration of the peace in our Fair Barony has come only with the Tragic Loss of Captain MacSheehy himself along with five Fine Men under his command.

Come one and come all to witness Justice Served! This Sunday at High Sun when the Dastardly Thief shall hang for his Heinous Crimes! Vendors will be on the edge of the green to serve pies and ale to all the Honest Families of Mallow.
